Sometime life has a weird way of happening,. When we were in our 20s, our stage was never more than somebody’s tailgate, Josh’s trailer or Carla’s apartment in Boone. I can’t tell any tales in case mama reads this, but any time we got together was a happy time. Coolers would slowly empty, someone (or three) would pull out a guitar, Bobby McGee would be sung (the 20 minute extended version on a good night), and good memories would be made.
Time passes. Jobs, kids, and mortgages come around and things change. You figure that’s just the way it is. Then a pandemic hits. Time slows down a little, and you start to reconnect with old friends and reminisce about old times. Some people learn new things, like bass guitar. The next thing you know you’re on a stage in a local bar living a dream you kind of forgot you had with people that never fail to make you smile.
So, why “The Last Resorts”? Well, we know what we are and what we aren’t. If you’re looking for perfect pitch or six string savants we probably aren’t for you. But, if you want to have a drink, a few laughs, and hear a few tunes you like to sing along to, you could do worse.
We will make you a promise though. The more you drink the better we will sound, and the louder you sing along, the better the show will be.
